I just don't get you sometimes TB. How can you not want Landon Donovan back, when it is clear to pretty much everyone the effect he has, not only on our players at the club, but the fans, he gives the whole club a boost with his performances on the pitch.

I mean, I am guessing you have enjoyed and admired Pienaars performances since he came in on loan, and rightfully so, 7 assists in 14 games is a terrific return. But Landon Donovan managed 6 assists in 9 games (granted Pienaar scored 2 or 3 goals) and that was in a STRUGGLING side and without the influence of Nikica Jelavic, who would have only helped Landon Donovan.

Mate, no matter if you like him or not, those stats don't lie, 6 assists in 9 games in a struggling side with Saha and Stracq up front is an outstanding effort.

I for one would welcome him back, I truly believe third time will be the charm, with his contract expiring in 2013, he will have a bit of leverage, and from the sounds of it, he really does want to come to Everton

Because Rob (and this is not a slant or personal attack) am not a MOTD fan. If you actually analyse it then that was all Donovan did 90% of time in games, some games he was shocking and yes great he did provide an assist.
To even compare him to what Pienaar does is ridiculous, Schillo is all over the park making a difference to the team and also contributing with assists and goals. Much more better contribution to the team

Donovan is massively better than any other option we have on the right.

And the MOTD fan comment is not really accurate, most people at the game love him.

Most people at the game are f**king idiots Mike. These fans who think Coleman is the right sided Giggs, fans who think Neville is better than Labone as captain

I know, but your comment made it sound like those not at the game can't have a clue whilst being there somehow means the opposite.

People do seem to be coming around on Coleman though, there are of course still idiots who believe him brilliant and then can't understand how people don't. It's the same with Jags some are still convinced he's pre-lescott leaving level, whilst there's even still some who think Cahill is still one of the best attacking midfielders in the game.

People are generally idiots, but that goes for those watching the game and those not able to.

I dont understand your argument, your criticising him because sometimes all he did was provide an assist or 2? I am struggling to see how that is a bad thing? I mean, he can have a bad game, EVERY player does, but if in those bad games he can get an assist or two, that only shows his quality for me, because he can still have a telling effect on a game despite not playing at his best.

I mean, the best min to assist ratio in the league, is pretty impressive wouldn't you say?

Not to mention, he does have a very good work rate on him, he is a willing runner, he is an Everton type, or more so, a Moyes type player, that fits this team absolutely perfectly, and the results ON the pitch is proof of this.

Also, MOTD isn't even aired in Australia, so I don't see the relevance in that to me, I have seen more or less every Everton game live this season, and the seasons prior, so I have seen the effect he has on the team.

Sorry Rob as Mike has stated the MOTD comment has been misinterpreted. I dont mean people who exclusively watch that programme i meant anyone who watches 1 min highlights will just see Donovan providing an assist and think oh he had a good game again, when in fact he was shocking for the majority of it and came up with 1 pass which led to a goal.
He is like a film trailer where they show all the best bits and you go see the film and its pants

TB, I think you are the only Everton fan I have ever seen not be a fan of Landon Donovan. It doesn't take MOTD to see the effect he has on the team, I mean take a look at the Hull game in his first stint, I imagine you were there and you heard the reception he got.

I just don't understand your argument, fact is, the stats back Landon Donovan, and more importantly, our results when he is on the pitch back Landon Donovan. I mean surely you would rather Donovan on the right hand side as opposed to a Osman, or God forbid Seamus Coleman.

Everything about landon makes him an everton player, he is a hard-working team player he always provides assists and goals, he has fit effortlessly into our style of player in his two stints, he will surely be back next season.

The 5-0/1 game? Dont remember much of it to be honest apart from he scored.
He disappears far to much for my liking, he is a typical Hollywood cheap film. Great for one scene then rest leaves a lot to be desired
