Everton legend Sharp: 'Not over yet'

Everton legend Graeme Sharp played in his fair share of Semi Finals whilst at the club, and remains insistent Everton still have the opportunity to reach their first major final in thirteen years.

The odds are very much stacked against the home side, who go into the game with a one goal deficit after the teams had locked horns at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago.

'Make no mistake, it is a tough job for Everton because Chelsea have a great habit of getting results when they need them. They are a class side with class players,' he told BBC Sport.

However, Everton have been buoyed by some great form recently, and some excellent atmospheres at Goodison Park. Indeed Sharp took part in one of the most memorable games ever to take place at the 'old lady' as Everton overcame FC Bayern Munich to progress into the final of the Cup Winner's Cup.

'The atmosphere inside Goodison will be just fantastic, I'm sure David will tell the players to go out and enjoy it, relish the fact that every Evertonian in that stadium will be right behind them, and take this chance to get the club back into a major final.'

He concluded, 'Chelsea start as favourites, but Everton's players will definitely feel this tie is not beyond them. It's not over yet by any means.'

I just hope we have a committed performance, and the boys react to what the fans will have to offer. we can't ask for anything more than 100% commitment, if its not meant to be then its not meant to be. hopefully we'll have a bit of luck too! COYB!!

how i wish we dont have to play everton. they have work so hard to be here and i would love to see them win a trophy but i want chelsea to win it more. this will be a tough match for both teams and i hope everton win the uefa cup but definately not the same cup chelsea are going for.
