Everton Mini Transfer Round Up (11/1/18)
The interweb and the backpages of the tabloids are full of speculation and rumour, but the more sensible (ish) links today concern Lille, Arsenal and Torino.
So, in the order I just listed those clubs.
Sky Sports reported earlier today that their 'sources' understood that Everton were interested in making a move for 25 year old Lille defender Adama Soumaoro.
The centre half is believed to be available for around the £18million mark and that the French club are looking for suitors to help ease their financial pressures.
Soumaoro has only made six starts in Ligue 1 this season, but he came into the campaign with an Achilles injury so he's been building himself back up to fitness.
Sky link West Ham, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco with having watched the player who can operate across the back four, and the suggestion is Sam Allardyce sees him as great cover given the injuries we have.
The Mirror are one of a few to link us to Arsenal's Theo Walcott with speculation that we are ready to launch a £20million bid for the former England man.
Walcott has long been linked this transfer window with a return to Southampton, but the Mirror believe Allardyce believes he's in poll position to beat the to Walcott should he enter an interest.
Finally Sky Sports are also linking Muhamed Besic with a departure.
They believe that Serie A side Torino are interested in the 25 year old Bosnian and with only eight appearances across the campaign, their sources also think he's ready to move on to gain greater playing time.
Having arrived from Hungarian side Ferencvaros in 2014 for £4million, 37 appearances later a similar fee would probably see a deal being done.
Apart from the far more left field suggestions, that's about your lot.
