West Ham Playmaker Barkley's Replacement?
The Daily Mirror is reporting Everton interest in Manuel Lanzini, viewed as a potential replacement for Ross Barkley should he decide against signing a contract extension, which could quite possibly happen.
According to the Mirror, it is seen as 'increasingly likely' Barkley will turn down a new deal at Everton, which would result in the England midfielder being sold this summer, as per the ultimatum made by boss Ronald Koeman recently.
Having stepped into the breach left by Dimitri Payet, controversially leaving West Ham for Marseille in January, Lanzini has impressed with eight goals this season and Koeman's seen as a 'big admirer.'
West Ham insist Lanzini - signed from River Plate on a permanent basis, following an initial loan spell, for £9.4m in March 2016 - isn't for sale but it's thought the Hammers could face a 'summer fight to keep another of their top stars.'
It was also reminded to us Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson continues to interest Koeman too, who could actually completely a £25m deal ahead of West Ham, another club interested in the Icelandic midfielder.
