Preston Won't Be Foolish Over McGeady
Preston North End manager Simon Grayson has said it would be foolish for them not to try and secure Aiden McGeady over the summer given his form for them during the loan spell so far this year.
Having moved to them on a season long loan spell in August, he has now racked up 27 appearances with a return of five goals and having been on target for them in the two all draw with Blackburn Rovers last weekend, Grayson was questioned about McGeady's future.
The BBC have him quoted as saying that it would be foolish to not try and get a deal done especially with eight assists from the 30 year old this campaign.
'We'd like to keep him, and I think Aiden has made it clear he would like to stay. The problem is that he has a year left at Everton. But we'll do as much as we can to make sure he's a Preston North End player next year.'
Grayson went on to say there were a number of potential options available to them, depending on what Everton would be open to over the summer.
'Do we go and sign him on a long-term contract, or do we try to get him on another season-long loan? Negotiations will happen with Everton because we would be foolish not to ask the question. It is something that will take care of itself, probably at the back-end of the season, but it's something that we would like and I'm sure the supporters would too, because he's been exceptional for us.'
