Chelsea shotstopper to Everton?

Chelsea shotstopper to Everton?

Will Everton's search for a new long-term goalkeeper end at Stamford Bridge?

It's now widely thought that Tim Howard is playing out his final season at Goodison Park.

The American does hold a long contract until 2018, but his form has dipped and it would appear the right moment to move him on, perhaps to Major League Soccer where no doubt he will return to a hero's welcome.

But where does that leave Everton? Joel Robles appears to plug a gap, but if Everton are to develop into a side that should fulfil it's potential and qualifying for Europe then a new number one should be a priority.

The British media certainly believe this to be the case and keep linking Roberto Martinez with a whole host of options.

The latest is Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The 28-year-old currently plays second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois and it cannot be fun just waiting around for the occasional cup tie, or injury/suspension to fill in for the odd game.

Chelsea are likely to want to recoup the £8million they paid Stoke for him last year and the Daily Star believe Everton will plot a summer raid.
