Everton face Swansea in Capital One Cup

Everton enter the Capital One Cup at the third round stage this season thanks to our involvement in the UEFA Europa League.

The draw for the third round was made last night following the Sky Sports TV game which saw League One side Bradford City dump fierce neighbours and Championship side Leeds United out of the competition.

Everton were drawn away to the 2013 winners Swansea City. But it is the timing of the match that is likely to determine just how seriously Roberto Martinez takes this seasons Capital One Cup.

On the face of things, the Capital One Cup is the lowest ranked competition that Everton will be involved in this season.

The chase for the top four in the Premier League is obviously the priority, then progression in both the Europa League and FA Cup follow.

The Capital One Cup is the least of our worries, especially when the match is just days ahead of the the first Merseyside derby of the season.

With Liverpool facing a home tie against Middlesbrough, they are sure to make several changes and it's likely that Roberto Martinez will also do the same despite facing Premier League opposition.
