Eto'o set to complete switch from Chelsea
Former Chelsea striker had previously been linked to Everton by the British media, but following the signing of Romelu Lukaku he now looks set to join West Ham.
Throughout the summer Romelu Lukaku was always Everton's first choice target and whilst all parties have made it clear that the deal was pretty straight forward other than the financial details, Everton obviously had to compile a list of potential other targets.
One was Samuel Eto'o following his release from Chelsea.
At 33-years-old Samuel Eto'o boasts an impressive honours role which includes over 100 international caps, over 50 international goals for Cameroon, 2 African Cup of Nations titles, 1 Olympic gold medal, 3 UEFA Champions League medals, two with Barcelona and one with Inter Milan, 3 Spanish titles and 1 Italian title.
He would have offered plenty of experience and in truth could have proved a useful signing, hence why the likes of Arsenal, Galatasaray and Besiktas have also been linked.
But according to The Times, it is West Ham United who have won the chase with Eto'o hoping to 'fulfill his mission of proving Mourinho wrong'.....sounds like he and Lukaku have something in common.
