'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Traore links continue

After just 61 minutes of FA Cup action, Evertonian's had thought they'd seen the last of Lacina Traore.

The January loan window signing of the Ivory Coast international from Monaco looked an exciting prospect, only for Evertonian's to be dealt with the frustration that he was signed with a hamstring problem.

With Everton fans waiting for a glimpse of the 6ft 8' striker, Martinez fielded Mirallas in the unfamiliar lone role up front, highlighting the striking problems with Arouna Kone and Romelu Lukaku also injured at the time.

Traore eventually came in to the team for the FA Cup win over Swansea, with a debut goal after just four minutes.

But then the jinx struck again with Traore suffering another hamstring problem, this time in his other leg, forcing him back onto the sidelines.

Everton and Monaco's medical staff evaluated the strikers injury and decided that he didn't require surgery, so he remained at Goodison Park despite not being fit to return to action for the remainder of the season.

Everton gaffer Roberto Martinez didn't rule out the prospect of a return move next season and this has fuelled the rumour mill since the end of the season regarding a possible return.

The latest report comes from ESPN who believe Monaco and Everton are in talks regarding a full season loan deal.
