'If It's Football, It's Vital'

All eyes on Arsenal

This evening Evertonians will discover if defeat to Southampton will have ultimately cost us a qualifying birth in next seasons Champions League.

'In another season, the 69 points we have would have been Champions League football. With the heritage and history we have, we should be aiming for the Champions League. Martinez told the media after the defeat at Southampton.

Arsenal face Newcastle this evening for Sky Sports Monday Night Football fixture.

A win for Arsene Wenger's side will see the gap between Everton and the crucial fourth spot in the Premier League increase to four points with just two games remaining.

However even if Newcastle can spring an upset, it doesn't look likely that Everton can overhaul Arsenal.

Even with Roberto Martinez's side setting a new club record points total in the Premier League, Arsenal face West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City in their final games.

Meanwhile Everton face a harder run-in with Manchester City, who are now some peoples favourites for the Premier League title after Liverpool's slip up against Chelsea at Anfield yesterday and Hull.
