Why Choose Everton - 20 and Under

Why Choose Everton - 20 and Under

Why is the youth of football choosing to sign for Everton?

Recently some of the best young talent in British and European Football are choosing to sign for the blues ahead of both Manchester clubs, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal etc.

Even top European clubs are choosing Everton to develop their football talent.

Below I list some of the talent Everton have recruited in the last 12 months :-

Jindrich Stanek Age 17 from Sparta Prague
Romelu Lukaku Age 20 from Chelsea
Gerard Deufofeu Age 19 FC Barcelona
Matthew Kennedy Age 18 Kilmarnock
John Stones Age 20 Barnsley
Luke Garbutt Age 20 Leeds Utd

Alongside these recruits, Everton have produced their own talent and have all gained full contracts yet another list:-

Mason Springthorpe Age 18 Keeper
Matthew Pennington Age 18 Centre Back
Hallam Hope Age 19 Striker
Tyias Browning Age 19 Centre Back
John Lundstrum Age 19 Centre Midfield
Jake Bid well Age 20 Left Back
Conor Grant Age 18 Midfield
Christopher Long Age18 Striker

I haven't forgotten him but of course:

Ross Barkley Age 20 Midfield and my bet to set Brazil World Cup 2014 on fire.

Why have all these young men chose to sign on the dotted blue line?

We don't have the biggest wages, we don't even send mechanics out to change your tyres like a certain club in Manchester.

The reasons are easy really. We have a team that plays football in the purest sense, we have a coaching staff that love the club and have all been great players, we have probably the most devoted chairman in football whom under his stewardship has had to choose only twice the Manager of our great club, both times not some late great all singing all dancing flamboyant gent who once played for Ajax or Real Madrid, no for starters David Moyes guiding Preston North End in the Championship steadily, who in his interview managed to say win or winners about 20 times in the first 2 minutes of his interview and then in his first press conference called out after seeing all the Blue shirts being worn in and around the city 'Everton The Peoples Club' 10 years he built a team an ethos never say die.

Then and now came Roberto Martinez from Wigan he had only just won the FA Cup with his club, only the season before was courted by Liverpool but turned them down. Why did he then choose Everton, well of course in Bill Kenwright he saw what he had at Wigan a chairman who he could trust and build a relationship and then of course his first press conference saying, 'How can you turn down the School of Science', immortal words and people this is why the youth and the best young managers choose the Blues.

Tradition, Style, and the chance to actually make it in the professional game as Everton prove time after time, we give youth a chance! They take their chance!
