Dream debut for Traore

Dream debut for Traore

Lacina Traore made his Everton debut in Sunday`s FA Cup tie against Swansea City.

The striker has had to be patient following his January transfer window loan move from Monaco, with Martinez determined to make sure he was fully fit before being handed his chance.

The 23-year-old Ivory Coast international however didn't take long to make his impact once he was given his chance, scoring on his debut with a back heel after just four minutes.

Although the goal didn't prove to be the winner, Everton still went on to cruise to victory 3-1.

Now the tallest outfield player in the Premier League has one eye on making a Wembley appearance.

All that stands in the way is 90 minutes against Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter-final.

"It`s nice to be playing in this famous cup competition. I watched the games as a kid and it would be a dream to be able to get to Wembley and play my part. Traore told The Echo.

He continued: "Arsenal are a big team but we will just get on with it.

"It was an absolute pleasure just to make my debut so to score was even better. The season starts here for me."
