Everton confirm Traore interest

Everton have confirmed they are interested in signing Ivory Coast international Lacina Traore from Monaco.

The 6ft 8ins striker had been heavily linked with a move to West Ham United before the move was hijacked by Roberto Martinez and Everton.

West Ham had already received a work permit for the player, something that Everton also now have in place and Everton will now continue negotiations ahead of the move.

'Everton confirm it has been granted a work permit for Lacina Traore.

'Talks are ongoing with Monaco to secure the 23-year-old's services.'
an Everton statement read.

Roberto Martinez speaking to the Echo added: "He is someone who would fit in really well in the role that we want.

"There are a couple of hurdles that we need to get through.
