Everton not interested in McGeady

Everton not interested in Spartak Moscow's Aiden McGeady as Roberto Martinez closes in on other targets.

It would seem that the only previous connection that the media had to link Everton with a move for Spartak Moscow's Aiden McGeady was that Wigan had made an approach for him six months ago.

Obviously that uses the fact that at some point Roberto Martinez must have been a fan of the 27-year-old Republic of Ireland international other wise he wouldn't have testing the waters in regards to a potential transfer fee with a failed 5million bid in January whilst still at Wigan.

But just as we alluded to on Tuesday, just because a player was a target for a manager at one club, that doesn't mean he will remain a target when said manager moves to a better club.

The Post certainly believe this to be the case and have reported that Martinez is unlikely to rekindle his interest in McGeady.

The local paper also points towards the turn of the month before Everton will see any real movement in the transfer market.

On Monday Martinez is expected to begin forming his new-look backroom staff and this could also indicate more activity in regards to potential transfers.
