FA Cup job interview for Martinez?

Last month we asked the question are Everton really lining up Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez as David Moyes replacement in the summer?

The rumour was floating around the internet for a few days around the same time that Moyes refused to be drawn on his future at Goodison Park.

It would seem that nobody really knows just how things will go when Moyes and Bill Kenright finally sit around a table to discuss next season and of course Everton have to start thinking about a scenario which doesn't include Moyes in the dugout, especially considering the rocky patch we've hit ever since his future hit the headlines.

The thought that Martinez could be a target is perfectly feasible. Whether any private talks around the offices would really have leaked the possibility at this very early stage is probably unlikely, but the FA Cup Quarter-Final clash certainly added some fuel to fire.

If BK and other members of the Everton board really have been considering the option, then the irony of Martinez reaching Wembley with his Wigan side will not have been lost on them.

It hasn't been lost on the bookies either, with Martinez as short as 5/4 with SkyBet.
