Le Fondre apologises to Jags

Adam Le Fondre has apologised to Phil Jagielka for the challenge that left him in hospital on Saturday night.

Jags required surgery to stitch up the damage to his ankle after the striker lunged in during the opening five minutes of the game.

'Fans were brilliant today! Shame about result! Everton were class! Thoughts with jags never meant to catch him, caught him late an apologised.' he said on social media website twitter.

David Moyes was forced to shuffle his pack with Heitinga coming on to replace the England international.

'I genuinely haven't seen it again but I thought on the pitch it didn't look good.

'Jagielka knew about it and it is a bad one. He will have surgery tonight to stitch up his ankle.
Moyes told the Daily Mail on Saturday evening.

He continued: 'It is a bad one because he is a key player for us.'

Jags is expected to be out for a couple of weeks so will almost certainly miss the FA Cup quarter-final against Wigan.
