Just exactly what the Board of Directors roles are in running our great club is totally beyond me!
Living in London now for the past 40 years, my passion for the Toffees has not and never will diminish. Like all Evertonians I have seen some great Everton sides at the Blue and White palace and like everyone else have been through the bad times as well!
However, since the January window of 2012, the air of optimism was widespread amongst us all; At last we were developing a side that could compete with the best of them.
A brilliant start to the season saw us high up in the table, deservedly so after some brilliant football.
Our let down of course was drawing far too many games that we dominated. That alongside losing some of our key players to injury surely exposed our already-smallest team in the premiership! Making it obvious that we desperately needed to upgrade our squad in the Jan 13' Window.
So what did we do? Waited till the last minute and tried to pull the 'Rabbit oot the Hat' trick. When we had all known for ages we needed reinforcements!
How stupid and inept the board will feel if we don't qualify for Europe? Or will they? Is simply staying in the Premier League enough for them?
I hope I am wrong but I feel our only way into Europe is via the FA Cup.
My dream was to get into the Champions League keep our best players and get some more!! Moyes to stay and get a 'sugar daddy' to take over but dreams seldom come true.
The reality is investment is needed but with this board ..........dream on!
