Jelavic rediscovers goalscoring touch
The international break will often cause problems to players clubs.
Teams will often watch on as their in form hero goes off to play for his country only to return with a hip injury, or get involved in some kind of nightclub incident or occasionally both.
But sometimes a player will benefit from going away with their country, if their not fully match fit it can work as a good chance to get some minutes under your belt and get some match sharpness in a game which doesn't affect the club. Or an out for form player could pick up some confidence.
Hopefully the latter will apply to Nikica Jelavic.
The 27-year-old Croatian has been lacking in the goals department this season and of late has dropped down the pecking order behind Big Vic.
He's scored just one goal a month for Everton so far this season, not exactly the return we would have been hoping for when last season he scored 29 goals in all competitions for Rangers, Everton and Croatia.
Against South Korea Jelavic found the net in a comprehensive friendly victory. Could that be the spark to reignite his season?
