More praise for Big Vic

He might not have scored since the win over Newcastle over new year, but Victor Anichebe's recent performances for Everton have not gone unnoticed.

Vital Everton writer Jack Sanderson recently wrote an opinion piece on Victor Anichebe, asking the question Big Vic - coming of age or striker in form?

The article followed a good run of form for the 24-year-old Nigerian born striker and it would seem that Leighton Baines would like to answer that very same question in an interview with The Echo.

"Victor has been brilliant this season,He has really come on and made a difference. You`ve seen this year a shift in his mentality, his head is on grafting and really working hard for the team." he said.

"He has come up with some really important moments for the team, whether it`s scoring goals or winning the penalty against West Brom. He`s developing into a really important player for us.

"By starting games rather than coming off the bench it helps his development, and we have seen that.

Will he continue to keep Nikica Jelavic out of the side? Will David Moyes put Vic up against Villa this weekend?
