Expect Everton to make a signing

Throughout December and January, Everton have been linked with numerous players in this transfer window.

Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders and Strikers have all been linked with moves to Goodison Park by the British media and various internet rumours.

Some have always looked unlikely due to finances and some have just never really added up.

With the team in decent form you could wonder if David Moyes would be interested in signing anyone this month, but it appears that Moyes does intend to make a move before that transfer window slams shut on Thursday.

"A lot of my time this week will be devoted to try and bring someone in. Moyes told the Post.

He added: "I tell the chairman what I think we need and we try and work it out together. I know exactly that he gives me every penny. We`re pretty straightforward. If you don`t have it, you can`t spend it."

Will Moyes try to bolster his transfer kitty, by selling someone? Perhaps John Heitinga who has been once again linked with a move away from Goodison?

Moyes continued: "I don`t think we could let John Heitinga go because we`re too short of central defenders.

"We wouldn`t let him go unless it was something outrageous which made us do it."

So not a clear absolute no on that point then. Let's see what the week brings.

There will be new signings on deadline day, my money is on 2 signings, but realistically we could do with 3 or 4.

Apparently we are signing Leroy Fer from FC Twente subject to agreeing terms!

Mate, not sure if you know, but on the forum (on the top bar where it says "home", "forum" etc, the lads are discussing the deal already, feel free to pop in and join in. As for the signing, the lad is a top talent but for me the biggest surprise is that fact we had that money laying around!!
