Everton transfer links - 16th January

The big transfer link of the day is our apparent interest in Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue.

According to the Daily Star Everton gaffer David Moyes sees Capoue as a like-for-like replacement for Marouane Fellaini, who has been linked with all sorts of moves away from Goodison Park over the past couple of seasons.

The 24-year-old, (that's Capoue not Fellaini) is a French international and according to Toulouse coach Alain Casanova "Capoue is the best player this club has had for 20 years."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also thought to be a fan of the £10million-rated midfielder but it isn't clear if he is likely to make a bid, although that said it isn't clear if we have the cash to make a bid either!

Anton Forrester could be set to leave Everton for Blackburn after he impressed them during a training game according to the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile Norwegian defender Vegard Forren who had previously been linked with a move to Merseyside with links to both Everton and Liverpool has now also been heavily linked with Southampton.

The 24-year-old who was watched by David Moyes back in November playing for his country against Hungary and just a few weeks later for Molde against FC Copenhagen in the Europa League.

It is believed that Moyes took three of his coaching staff on the latter trip with the sole purpose of watching Forren.
