Lescott to return to Everton?

Could Joleon Lescott really be on the brink of leaving Manchester City and returning to Everton?

Considering the ill feeling following his move some three years ago for £24million, not many people would have predicted this possible outcome.

After 114 games for Man City, Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini wants shot of the England international and could consider allowing the 30-year-old to return to Goodison Park either on loan or on a cut price deal in January.

They would also want to get him off the wage bill and so would, according to the Mirror anyway, would also be willing to pay a significant amount of his current £90,000-a-week wages to facilitate the move.

(£90,000-a-week over 3 years plus the £24million in transfer fees, mean that Lescott has cost Man City in the region of £30million, or in-excess of £250,000 every time he's stepped foot on a pitch.)

If Moyes was able to capture Lescott it could end Johnny Heitinga's Everton career.

David Moyes is desperate to get some spending money and Turkish giants Galatasary have been previously linked with the Dutch international with a fee of £7million rumoured to be a realistic asking price.

Decent money and we all know just how well Moyes could spend that sort of cash as he continues to shuffle his pack in a bid to create a Champions League contending squad.
