Everton transfer rumours - 4/12/12

QPR, Tottenham and Paris St Germain are all interested in raiding Goodison Park in the January sales according to various reports across the internet.

Now the first one I'd suggest is highly unlikely as it involves 35-year-old Sylvain Distin. The defender has recently been sat on the bench and is out-of-contract at the end of the season, but would QPR and Spurs really make January moves for him?

He's already been reported as very keen to tie up a new deal with Everton and we'd hardly be in a position to 'cash in' on the ageing central defender. So I'd fully expect him to sign a new deal with us soon.

The other rumour involves Marouane Fellaini. The big Belgian has been linked with a whole host of clubs over the past year including the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City. We all know that Fellaini remains ambitious and wants a crack at the UEFA Champions League, however a recent interview appeared to suggest that he'd like to attempt to get there with Everton. If that was the case surely that would rule out a January transfer window departure?

That said French giants Paris St Germain wield a considerable financial sword and it does appear to only be a matter of time before Fellaini does depart, its all a matter of how long we can keep the wolves from the door.

Distin to Spurs? Complete cobras Yak old boy, we don't need another aging CD when we already have Gallas. QPR? Silvain is right up HR's street, can defo see that happening.

Cant see many departures in January. The only player I could see leaving is Johnny Heitinga, and then with the money bringing in Forren and a couple more faces. Everton stand a decent chance of Champs League footy next season, cant see our vital players like Fellaini and Baines being sold, and if they were, it would be for a ridiculous sum of money.
