New deals for Distin & Neville on the horizon

David Moyes is set to discuss new contracts with ageing pros Phil Neville and Sylvain Distin.

The duos current deals run out at the end of the season, but both continue to be reliable stalwarts in the Everton squad.

Phil Neville will be 36 by the time next season comes around, while Distin will be 35, but neither have shown any signs of wanting to hang up their boots in the imminent future.

Neville has already made 13 appearances this season, whilst Distin has made 10 appearances.

"We are monitoring Phil`s position, but if you were asking for me, I`d say let`s give him another year`s contract and keep it going.

'I`d say the same for Sylvain Distin, who is in the same position.'
Moyes told the The Echo.

He continued: "Both of them have been excellent and I`d have no qualms recommending to the board that we give them another years contract.

"Phil and Sylvain are both in the same boat. I`ve not really sat and had a word with the chairman yet, we`ll probably do that after the New Year, and see if we are ready to give them a new contract."

What do you think? Should we hand them both new one year deals in January? Or should it be time that we look for fresh faces? Let us know in the article comments below.
