After leading the game 2-0 only to come away with a draw, it's understandable that Liverpool would have a bitter taste of sour grapes.
Throw in Suarez's disallowed last minute winner and I dare say the result actually became pretty painful for the red half of Liverpool.
But even with that in mind, captain Stevie G, appears to have been playing in a different game to the one the rest of us were watching.
After the game he branded us as direct and similar to Stoke!
'There was only one team who came into the derby trying to play football. Everton are effective because they have some big physical lads in the team and are very direct. They are effective. But the only team who tried to play football was us. Gerrard told The Independent.
He added: 'I thought we stood up to a team that are very similar to Stoke. Every single time they get the ball at the goalkeeper it comes in long.'
Now with Steven Pienaar absent, I thought one of the most eye catching performances was Kevin Mirallas who had been shifted out to the left wing.
His dribbling and running had the Liverpool defenders running scared, until of course Suarez injured him.
The Vital Everton match stats showed that Everton had more possession, created more chances on goal, more on target, more corners and conceded less fouls.
The Independent also quoted a few stats with a pass completion analysis showing 359 accurate passes for Everton in comparison to Liverpool's 257, with 34 crosses from Everton to Liverpool's 17.
If we were just aimlessly hoofing it forward Stevie G, how did we complete so many passes and work the ball out to the wings to create crosses and goal chances?
