Praise for Jelavić

This seasons new look side has received a lot of praise so far this season.

We've been exciting, we've been fun and most importantly, we've been getting results!

Understandably the new boys have been receiving an awful lot of attention with the likes of Kevin Mirallas obviously receiving a lot of credit and of course David Moyes for signing him!

But last season Moyes made one of the biggest and best signings as Everton manager. The signing of Nikica Jelavić from Rangers and it isn't a surprise to see the Croat continue his scoring run from last season and it hasn't gone unnoticed by his team-mates.

"I mentioned last week how much I am enjoying playing with him. He is great at finding space in the box and freeing himself up which makes it easy to find him with a pass.' Mirallas told evertontv

He continued: "While also he is very good with his flicks and little touches he gives to me so it works well both ways."

It was a familiar tune coming from Leon Osman, who like Mirallas, picked out Jelavić's predatory instincts as a major plus point for the side.

'He finds himself in the right position which is vital if you're a striker,' Osman told evertontv.

He added: 'Some strikers can be great at finishing but might not find themselves where the ball lands. Thankfully for us Jela's got that knack and we hope he keeps it up.'

Jelavić's record since moving to Everton reads: 13 Premier League goals in 16 starts (3 sub), 2 goals in the FA Cup from 3 starts and one Capital One Cup sub appearance.

Really is amazing the effect he has had on this side. Since he has joined, we have been matching it, points wise, with the 2 Manchester sides, and Jelavic definitely played a part in that, he is a goalscorer, give him chances and he will score, that is the striker we have lacked for so long. Amazing he hasn't had the same media attention as some of the other players (I mean take Cisse for example), the lad joined from the SPL and has scored 13 goals in 16 games, amazing stat that really. Fingers crossed he can stay healthy, because if he does, he is nailed on to get at least 20 goals this season.
