I will learn from Baines says Oviedo

New-boy Bryan Oviedo hopes to learn from Leighton Baines while he bides his time on the fringes of the Everton squad.

The Costa Rican international can operate anywhere down the left, but that of course means that he is in direct competition for places with left back Leighton Baines and midfielder Steven Pienaar.

"The left side for Everton is very good, Baines and Pienaar play very well and have played together for a long time.

"I can be there also but I`ll need to play well to have a chance.'
Oviedo told the Echo.

The diminutive 22-year-old made the move to Goodison Park from FC Copenhagen last month and made his debut against Swansea a week ago.

He was only on the field for a few minutes, but he got a better taste of the English game at Leeds during mid-week playing the full 90 minutes of the Capital One Cup loss.

But whilst he has featured for the first team over the past two games, he understands that he has a lot to learn to break into the team on a regular basis.

He continued: "Leighton is a fantastic player. He`s a very, very good left-back. I see him in training and it`s important for me to learn from him and try to play like him,"

"I can play left-back or left-winger but it`s up to the manager where he sees me. I`d be ready to play anywhere on the left for Everton."
