Man of the Match Vs Newcastle

The poll results for man of the match in the game against Newcastle are in and the winner is... Leighton Baines!

The England left back scored Everton's first goal and was a constant threat going forward and won our vote with 40%. Our forum users were certainly impressed with the full back too: '8/10. MoM, involved in everything tonight, going forward scored and crating some chances and at the back very solid. Another top class performance' and '7/10 Excellent as always with Pienaar '

Second place was summer signing Kevin Mirallas with 28% of the vote after impressing having made his first league start for Everton, he proved his ability to play at this level and caused plenty of problems for the Newcastle defence. Our forum members were pleased with the attacking skill of the new signing, although not all were completely sold on the performance on display: '7/10 Good debut, especially the 1st half, looks very lively and exciting' and 'Full of running, caused problems but end product a little suspect'

Third place was the ever reliable Steven Pienaar with 12%, he was fantastic as always linking up everything we did worth doing. Pienaar is always a popular player on the forums: 'Main threat with Baines, 2 assists, should have scored, or at least teed Osman up in the 2nd half. But good performance' and '7/10 The usual brilliance '

Interesting in 4th place was Distin with 6% compared to Anichebe who only scored 3% despite scoring twice (although one was wrongly not given), there was plenty of debate on our forums about the performance of the defender with some much less impressed than others, this thread can be read by clicking here

There is always plenty of debate about player performance in our player ratings threads, be sure to check the forums tomorrow after the Swansea game.
