Moyes to offer Hargreaves a lifeline?

Is David Moyes set to offer former England, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Manchester City midfielder Owen Hargreaves a way back to the Premier League?

The 31-year-old injury plagued midfielder has been without a club since his departure from Man City.

He made just two Carling Cup starts for City during his year long stay with the Premier League champions, also making one league substitute appearance and one FA Cup sub appearance.

All in all, he played 157 minutes for Man City last season.

The year before that he made one single 10 minute appearance and the year before that he made just one, ONE minute appearance all season.

Dating back as far as 2008/2009 doesn't help much either, just three appearances all season totalling 176 minutes.

That brings his total playing time over the past four years to 344 minutes, the equivalent of a little under four full games.

Despite that injury record, Hargreaves is still in demand. He recently trained with French club Lille and was set to agree a one-year-deal but the move collapsed last week.

He is has offers from the Championship and America, but the offer of a return to the Premier League would obviously tempt Hargreaves.

The Daily Mail believe Moyes could initially offer him a trial before offering a pay-as-you-play contract, with a basic salary of £10,000-a-week, in a bid to limit the damage if he breaks down with injury again.

Isn't my ideal choice, but given we have to put up with Phil Neville in the centre of midfield, I would take my chance on Hargreaves or Hitzlesperger (sp?). Just want someone other than Phil Neville in midfield, completely ruins our passing style of football and cant even track runners properly, just useless in the middle of the park.

Could be the answer as long as he's fit. Phil Neville is a good bloke but a crap midfield player!
