Barkley completes loan switch

As expected Ross Barkley has completed a loan switch to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.

The highly talented 18-year-old midfielder has become a big hit with Evertonians, showing a great deal of skill and passion for the game for someone so young.

He was heavily linked with a loan move away from Goodison Park at the start of the week and he has now completed a one month loan move to Hillsborough.

'We have been chasing Ross for some time and I'm really pleased to have him on board.' Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones told the local press.

He continued: 'This is as big as the Rodri signing for me because this lad is a real quality player.

'He's energetic, good in the air and a box to box player who can score a goal.'

Barkley is expected to be in the Wednesday side that travels south to Brighton this evening.

Think it is a good deal for all parties involved. From our POV Barkley will be given regular game time and allow him to develop, whereas if he stayed here, he would only get reserve action. For Wednesday, they receive a player who can help them for their push for the playoffs (You would imagine the deal would be extended). Will definitely keep an eye out on how he is going, think he will be very good in the Championship

As things stand it will do him good to be in competitive football rather than being a benchwarmer i too will be keeping an eye out.
