Barkley set for loan spell with Sheff Weds

18-year-old Ross Barkley looks set to leave Everton on loan, with Sheffield Wednesday taking an interest in the highly talented midfielder.

Barkley has become a big hit with Evertonians, showing a great deal of skill and passion for the game for someone so young.

Personally I'd have liked to have seen him blooded into the Everton side, but David Moyes has proven in the past that he knows how to develop young talent and if he thinks a loan spell is right for Barkley, then a loan spell he shall have.

Meanwhile Jose Baxter has linked up with Oldham following his release from Goodison Park in the summer.

The 20-year-old who played for England at Under-16's and Under-17's levels spent four months with Tranmere on loan last season, making 15 appearances and scoring three goals.

Baxter featured for Oldham's reserves against Hartlepool this week in a bid to earn a contract with Paul Dickov's squad.

Makes sense really, if he isn't going to play in the senior team this season, then might as well send him out for consistent football. With consistent football he could really develop into the player we all expect. For Sheff Weds, could be a really good deal for them, because personally I think he could more than do a job in the Premier League right now, so he should be alright in the Championship.

Completely agree, we've made some good signings this summer and he will have dropped down the pecking order, get him out playing, he's too good to be sitting around not playing regularly at his age.

I'm a Wednesday Fan and i think Hillsborough would be the perfect choice really. We will hopefully continue to challenge for the play offs and we get decent crowds - so a godd experience all round. We also have a good track records with loanees. Good to see Everton finally make a decent start to the season - aren't you usually bottom after 3 games. A good start makes the season much easier!!

Way to go really and it will be the making of the lad he'll get on well. Sheffield is a good place and the people are very down to earth and they'll take to young Ross. As long as they dont get to attached! and send him back to the toffees!

If Moyes won't trust him and play him he's better off on loan
