I'm happy in Liverpool says Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini has done his best to try and play down his remarks about leaving Everton during an interview while away on international duty.

The Belgium international complained about the role he had been playing in David Moyes's squad, stating that he would prefer a more box-to-box midfielder role like he plays for Belgium and then went on to add that he would soon turn to another club or championship after seeing it all at Everton.

With Everton officials reportedly 'confused and dismayed' by the comments, the midfielder took to Facebook to try and down play the comments.

"I was surprised to read in some newspapers that I will leave Everton very soon, and perhaps next January," he said.

He continued: "Let me remind you that I am happy in Liverpool and our start to the championship was good.

"Kevin Mirallas and some other good players joined us to make us a better squad.

"So with Everton, I`m ready to play all the season and to reach our goals of this season."

While his comments will undoubtedly help play down the situation in the media, be sure that upon his return he will he set for a meeting with David Moyes!
