With Chelsea's Ashley Cole absent from the England squad to face Moldova tomorrow, Everton's own Leighton Baines might get the nod to start for England.
The 27-year-old would earn his 11th cap if selected and Baines wants to take his opportunity to impress.
'Hopefully, if the manager selects me then there's an opportunity there for me, Ashley has been fantastic over the years for England and it's been difficult for anyone to get a look-in really, so if the opportunity comes around, I'll look to take it.' he told evertonfc.com
He added: 'I've been around the squad for the last few years and picked up caps in friendlies, but with Ashley being the player he is, it's hard to get a look-in so it would be nice to get involved.'
England manager Roy Hodgson has also called up Phil Jagielka for the international double header, although with competition stiff with the likes of John Terry, Gary Cahill and Joleon Lescott also in the squad, Jags chances of adding to his international tally is less likely than Baines.
The Republic of Ireland are set to face Kazakhstan and Oman this week, Darron Gibson asked not to be selected, whilst Seamus Coleman has been included.
Goalkeepers Tim Howard and Jan Mucha have very different trips ahead of themselves. Mucha is in the Slovakian side to take on Lithuania and Liechtenstein, whilst Howard is included in the USA team set for a double header against Jamaica.
Also across the pond, deadline day signing Bryan Oviedo is set for games for Costa Rica against Mexico.
John Heitinga's Holland face Turkey and Hungary, while Steven Naismith's Scotland squad play Serbia and Macedonia.
Evertonians attentions will move over to Belgium against Croatia on Tuesday night as a trio of Everton players are set to take to the field.
Marouane Fellaini and Kevin Mirallas are in the Belgium squad, whilst Nikica Jelavic is expected to be included in the Croatia team.
