Everton linked with FIVE new players

When will the spending stop? Everton have been linked with FIVE new players, with a double swoop on Wolves and a triple deal with Manchester City.

Usually I would just chalk most transfer rumours involving Everton up as media talk, but we've been so active this summer that it would be flippant to just ignore anything at the moment!

So according to ClubCall, we have not ended our interest in Manchester City's Adam Johnson.

Many believed that if we had been truly interested in Johnson then we would have got something sorted out during the negotiations that saw Jack Rodwell leave Goodison Park.

But instead Johnson remained at the Premier League title holders and is also a target for Fulham and Liverpool. Clubcall however believe for some reason that we have been given first refusal on any potential deal.

They also believe that we are interested in youngsters Dedryck Boyata and John Guidetti.

20-year-old John Guidetti who has recovered from a virus that paralysed his right leg is a target for 15 clubs according to his agent, but has also been linked with signing a new deal at Man City.

21-year-old Dedryck Boyata spent last year with Bolton on a season-long loan, it isn't clear if either men will be available on permanent deals or loans.

The Daily Mail however believe we will raid Wolves after David Moyes was spotted at Molineux on Tuesday.

The obvious link there would be Kevin Doyle as we have previously reportedly made bids for the Republic Of Ireland forward. But considering our recent acquisitions would we really be after Doyle? He hardly set the Premier League alight last season and I think we've moved on.

The other link is left back Stephen Ward, I'm not even going to suggest that Manchester United could be rekindling their interest in Leighton Baines hence our apparent interest in Ward as a replacement, oh no, I'm not saying a word.

Personally don't think any of these will come off, the thing with Moyes, is that the players we sign always seem to be out of the blue, but it is so much better hearing about players coming to Everton, rather than hearing about players leaving Everton.

I still think Boyata has been undervalued by Mancini after he got sent off against Arsenal a couple of years ago. He is an intelligent centre back who can also play on the right and given the correct motivation will not let you down. I'm not sure about Johnson. I'm not sure he has the dedication. If he did he would be in City's team. Guidetti, I think will become mega. He is supremely confident and know where the net is. He on occasions looks a bit like Chris Waddle did in the way he seems to plod about but his scoring record ofr City's EDS and Feyenoord tell their own story.
