It's finally done! Pienaar returns to Goodison

Everton have finally completed the signing of Steven Pienaar from Tottenham.

The South African re-joined on loan back in January and it always looked likely that he would return this summer on a permanent deal.

He wanted it and we wanted it, the only problem was agreeing a fee with Spurs. That fee would appear to be £4.5million, while the personal terms that were agreed weeks ago sees the 30-year-old sign a four-year contract.

'I am happy to be here. It took a few weeks to sort out but I am delighted to be back and excited to play for Everton. Pienaar told evertontv.

He continued: 'There was no doubt in my mind that I would be back here. At the end of the season I told the manager how I felt and I am happy now it is all done.'

Good luck to him. He is a very good player who never really got a chance to settle at Spurs. I wish him well.

Welcome back Stevie P, he is the heart of our football, and some of the football we played at the back end of last season was beautiful football. Some will point to the fact that we paid 1.5mil extra to get him back, but considering, to us, he is worth in excess of 10-15mil, I don't really care, besides, in fact, we actually saved 2mil if we had kept him on 75k a week (3.5mil a season) and instead get him for even cheaper 50k a week, so in the end, I think it worked out for both clubs and the player. Just happy to see him back in the blue, never looked right at Spurs.

All the best to him. I like him & he's clearly a good player, but im tired of hearing excuses for him at Spurs - He had plenty of chances he just didnt perform. £4.5m for a 30 year old and his large wages off the bill, i think both partys are happy.

Should never of left you guys. Sorry we wasted his talent at Spurs, was never used properly by Harry. I will always thank him for that fantastic performance at the San Siro v AC Milan. Best of luck to him and Everton in the future.

Quality player and a class act professionally. I couldn't ever see him fitting in at Spurs, and sadly he was never given enough of an opportunity to prove me wrong. I think this is one of those rare occasions where the player and both clubs have got the result they wanted, and I wish him well back at his rightful club. Best of luck for 2012/2013 to him and Everton. Come on you beautiful Spurs!!!
