Everton make move for Zapata
If you believe everything you read David Moyes's has had a busy weekend.
If you thought the spending spree would end with the hopeful signing of Steven Pienaar later today, then you could be in for a big surprise as The Times have speculated that we have made another move for a central defender.
They have reported that over the weekend we made an official approach for central defender Cristián Zapata.
The Colombian central defender is a free agent after 12 months in Spain with Villareal.
After six years with Italian side Udinese, he was heavily linked with a £12 million move to Liverpool last summer, with the 25-year-old telling a Colombian radio station: 'I do not know what to say, I can say that I am very close to Liverpool,"
He eventually went on to make the move to Spain but is now a free agent, although the Daily Mail's report contradicts the Times, as they believe that ourselves and West Brom are making a bid to sign him on loan.
