Pienaar set to complete Everton move

Steven Pienaar is set to finally rubber stamp his move back to Everton from Tottenham as soon as this afternoon.

The South African midfielder has had a torrid time time at White Hart Lane after moving to London from Merseyside in January 2011 for £3million.

Everton decided to cash in on Pienaar after failing to agree terms on a contract extension. But after just five Premier League starts under Harry Redknapp, Pienaar was back at Goodison Park on loan.

His permanent switch back to Everton has been anticipated all summer and personal terms between Everton and Pienaar were agreed a long time ago.

But the hold up has been between the two clubs failing to agree a fee. The breakthrough according to Sky Sports came on Saturday, although an actual price wasn't mentioned in the report for the 30-year-old.

The Daily Post believe the medical, which should be fairly straightforward considering how well all the staff know him, should be completed today and then the deal can finally be made official and announced to the expected delight of all Evertonians.

I don't know why we bought him in the first place... Out of curiosity can you tell me what salary you've signed him on this time around? I assume he moved to us for more cash and then again to you for a bit more. Just think you could've saved all the hassle and gave him a pay rise years ago which would've probably been less than he got now! Just a thought.
