Deals still on for Everton?

The rollercoaster of being an Evertonian has been evident this week.

We had the low of not knowing quite where Steven Naismith stood after he was left in limbo without international clearance following his move from crisis club Rangers.

Then we had the high of him making his debut as he was given a provisional clearance to carry on his career with Everton.

We continued the climb as the week began with the news that Everton and Fenerbahçe were about to finally tie up a deal which would have seen Joseph Yobo finally leave Everton for Turkey on a permanent basis.

Not only that but the move would also pave the way for Pienaar's return as the money received would fund the move with Spurs.

Everything seemed rosy, a positive summer has been an alien concept for Evertonians for a number of years but this year seemed to be different, until yesterday.

First the news that Cahill was off to the USA to sign up with the New York Red Bulls, his departure was expected, but still sad when it was confirmed.

Then, the rumour mill really kicked into over drive with various reports suggesting that Joseph Yobo's permanent move from Everton to Turkish side Fenerbahçe had collapsed, with Yobo fed up of the delays.

That deal of course has a knock-on-effect to how we deal with Tottenham regarding Steven Pienaar and Sky Sports shortly afterwards revealed that Everton and Tottenham had failed to reach an agreement and that we now faced competition for his signature.

To compound it all Everton's Indonesia tour was cancelled.

But today is a new day and while the organisers of the Java Cup discuss taking legal action against us for pulling out of the tour at this late stage, there are more positive signs regarding Joseph Yobo and Steven Pienaar.

Joseph Yobo's agent John Shittu has denied that the deal has collapsed and has confirmed that negotiations are ongoing.

Better than that, he believes a deal will be completed soon.

'The rumours are untrue. We are only finalising details. It should be sorted out soon.' he told BBC sports jounalist Oluwashina Okeleji.

The deal is still thought to be around €2.5 million.

With that deal still on, what about Pienaar? Well those talks are also still ongoing.

We know, or at least it has been widely reported that we have agreed personal terms with Pienaar, so its all down to the money side of things with Tottenham.

The Times believe the two clubs are on the 'verge' of agreeing a deal.

So fingers crossed for a better day!

Just got to be patient, whatever happens, happens, I am worried about our board but thankfully for us one thing I cannot doubt is Moyes' ability in the transfer market, whatever he decides I will back the decision. Hoping for Yobo out, Pienaar in and maybe a loan striker, if that happens I will be happy

Things are never straight forward in modern day transfers, i feel the pineaar deal will be done shortly and i can see moyes bringing 1 more in and i will be happy with that

According to sky sports the fee for Pienaar has been agreed so it shouldn't be too long before he is back!
