Yobo deal paves the way for Pienaar return

Two of Everton's most protracted transfer moves are now beginning to edge closer to a resolution.

Joseph Yobo could finally make his move from Everton to Fenerbahçe this week, while Steven Pienaar could also be set to complete his move from Tottenham back to Everton.

Both deals have taken there time to complete, but progress is beginning to be made on both fronts.

The key to both deals finding a conclusion is Turkish side Fenerbahçe, who have stalled over a transfer fee for the 31-year-old for around two years!

He may well have last pulled on an Everton jersey in May 2010, but he is still technically an Everton player as the last two years in Turkey have been on loan.

But the Echo believe a breakthrough might have finally been achieved with Everton receiving £2.5million.

If that's true, then the wheels should hopefully be in motion to see Yobo make his final farewell from Goodison Park and give us the necessary cash to complete the Pienaar deal.

Steven Pienaar has apparently already agreed personal terms regarding the move back to Everton, but Everton need the up front cash payments to complete the £5million transfer deal.

It's been a long time coming, but Moyes is beginning to sound confident: 'I think we are much closer to Pienaar and hopefully in time I will have something, but I don't quite have it yet.' he told the Mail.

Hoping both deals get done this week. Then maybe Moyes can look at a couple of loan to sure up the squad ahead of the season.
