Yobo saddened by Fenerbahçe silence

Three weeks after Joseph Yobo appeared confident that his future would be resolved, the Nigerian defender is still no closer to leaving Everton.

The 31-year-old may well have last pulled on an Everton jersey in May 2010 and is unwanted at Goodison Park, but if a deal with Turkish side Fenerbahçe cannot be met, he may well end up back at Finch Farm training with Everton.

Yobo has spent the last two years on loan at Fenerbahçe and would like to stay there, he has made over 60 appearances for the club winning the Turkish Süper Lig last season and the Turkish Cup this.

The problem is the two clubs cannot agree a fee.

Due to his age Fenerbahçe do not believe he is worth much of a transfer fee and are only willing to pay 2.5 million euros for him, whilst Everton believe with two years remaining on his current contract, that he is worth around 3.5 million euros.

In truth it's probably the closest the two clubs have been to settling on a fee for quite some time, but that doesn't help a frustrated Yobo who just wants the deal done.

"Preparations began for the new season, but my condition is still not clear.' Yobo told Milliyet.

He continued: 'The club`s (Fenerbahçe) silence makes me sad. This situation can not continue like this,

Ridiculous, 2mil for a player who is their captain?? Has got to be at the very least 3mil for me, I mean he has led them to a 2nd place and a title in the 2yrs he has been there.

Sell him to somebody else and show these people they have gone far enough! I mean to say for christ sake they have had him on loan for two years and then have the nerve to say his age affects the price---LOL
