Moyes lines up Baines replacement?

Leighton Baines hasn't even completed a rumoured transfer to Manchester United yet and Everton have been linked with Juventus man Reto Ziegler.

The speculation regarding Baines and Man Utd just doesn't seem to be going away, is that an indication that is something in the rumour? Or just that so many media outlets have reported it that it just keeps going round and round building momentum without any foundation?

Well if the Daily Star are accurate in their reporting we will know quite soon as they believe Sir Alex Ferguson is wanting to complete the deal before they fly off to South Africa and China next week.

Reports suggest a fee could rise to £16million, but that's with £4million worth of add-ons on the never-never, so in real terms it would be a £12million deal.

Both the Star and the Metro believe that David Moyes would like 26-year-old Juventus left-back Reto Zeigler to replace him.

Zeigler spent three years at Tottenham before moving to Italy with Sampdoria and then a strange move to Juventus where he never played and was immediately sent out on loan to Turkey with Fenerbache.

Despite not being involved in Juve's plans they have slapped a £5million asking price on the for Spurs player, while Moyes values him at around £2million.

Everton also have competition in the form of Bundesliga side Stuttgart and Serie A side Lazio.

why would moyes sign someone to replace baines, when we have such a talented attacking right back in hibbert, i can just see him running up field on the touch lie with the ball at his feet dribbling past player after player, then getting to the opposition goal line and cross the ball for jelavic to score, it hurts my brain just thinking of hibbert continually dribbling past the opposition to cross the ball, he gets nervous if he has the ball and an opposing player is within 30 feet of him
