Rodwell's Olympic dream over

While David Beckham was the face of Great Britian's Olympic bid, Jack Rodwell was the poster boy for the mens Team GB football team.

He modelled the the Stella McCartney designed Adidas Team GB strip last year and has been part of many of the poster campaigns surrounding the British team which will be involved in the games.

He was desperate to be included in the squad after missing out on England's Euro 2012 campaign and was expected by many to line-up alongside the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale this summer, but just like former England captain David Beckham, it would seem that Rodwell has had the call from Stuart Pearce informing him that his services will not be required this summer, according to the Independent.

The news isn't likely to receive quite the same headlines as David Beckham's omission from the squad, but it should please Everton gaffer David Moyes who had suggested that Rodwell should use the summer for recuperation following a number of hamstring injuries which he suffered during the season.

The face and the poster boy. What has football become?
The Fear
I think it had a bit to do with Moyes saying you need to put 100% into this season and fitness is his major issue at the moment, so might of said just give it a skip and make sure your 100% for the start of the season. Because this season really is his make or break season, needs to stay fit and show the quality that he has.

Shame for the kid but he has missed quite a few shifts through injuries one way or another,. So its probably for the best. If he gets himself sorted Jack has the potential to be a very good player.

Champion Willy ...no its just becaus he is total garbage. You should have got rid of him when you coup have got 20 million, he's not worth a fraction of that now.... Probably will end up with Wallace at Tranmere next season.....remember you heard it first from Champion Willy, the intelligent voice of football.
