Everton players off to the Olympics

Everton will be represented at this summers Olympic Games.

Jill Scott, Fara Williams and Rachel Brown from the Everton Ladies have all been named in Hope Powell's Team GB Women's Football Squad.

They will be in contention to play in the group opener against New Zealand on Wednesday, 25 July, before taking on Cameroon three days later and then Brazil on Tuesday, 31 July.

The fixture against Brazil will give a real indication of just how far the British squad can go as Brazil have taken the silver medal at the past two Olympics.

The majority of the 18-woman British team comes from the England squad where Scott, Williams and Brown have collectively won 240 caps.

'This is a great chance for these players to be involved in something huge and it gives us a great platform to further raise the profile of the women's game.' Head Coach Powell told evertonfc.com

Champion Willy here .... now that is scraping the barrel guys. Why dont you try them in the first team and lower the age level and improve the looks. At least they wouldnt cost you any money and cant be worse than some of your squad LOL.

Ah willy, i knew a day couldn't go by without hearing some of your drivel, apparently citeh are after skertel, you obviously want to lower the tone of your club by signing a red *****e player
Bez the blue
Bez .... The press write even more drivel than me and there is no substance in the Skertel rumour. We do need another centre half to challenge Kompany and Lescott but unfortunately Arsenal haven't any we fancy so the press start making up drivel. We are looking to pay mid level say 20 million.
