Fellaini wants ambitious club

Some recent comments from Fellaini about his future have sparked fears that the Belgian International could be set to leave Goodison.

The Everton midfielder has been linked with numerous moves to Chelsea and a number of other clubs, but despite the speculation, no firm offers appear to come David Moyes's way.

If they did then a bid of around £20 million would be a price that would seriously trouble the Everton board as financially can we afford to turn it down?

The problem is, on the field can we afford too? As we could never afford a like-for-like replacement.

That said, the player himself remains fairly relaxed, happy to just chalk up as paper talk, them problem is, while confirming he is happy at Everton it would appear clear that if a ambitious club came in for him, then he would like the chance to make the move.

'If I have got to go, I will go, if not, I repeat, I am at Everton,' he told Belgian radio station RTBF.

He continued: 'I am ambitious; I want to play in the Champions League or in the Europa League. Last season we finished seventh with Everton, and we were not able to qualify us for Europe, which was a shame.

'If an ambitious club comes in for me? Why not, just to gain experience but I`m on vacation right now, I do not give [speculation] too much attention.

'Every year they say I`ll be transferred to the left or right. But I`m still at Everton!

'If it comes, I take, if it does not come, I stay at Everton, where I am happy, and where I still have a four-year contract.

'Everything goes fast in football. You can be transferred tomorrow, as you can be in one or two years. For now, I`m on vacation, I try to arrive fresh at the start of next season. If there are any concrete offers yet? If this is the case, I am not aware.'

Thoughts?

Rob-EFC said: Doesn't sound too convincing, to me he says his an Everton player, but if a club comes in he won't say no.

ToffeeBlue said: Sounds like a lost in translation. I highly doubt he said anything of the sort in Belgian

A lot of the stuff in the press is nonsense, it would take a massive bid to uproot him

Champion Willy here ... Well if he wants an ambitious club that's you lot knackere. Don't worry about him coming to us though as he isn't good enough to be considered by the Championi.
