'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Everton move into the black

Unfortunately the article isn't referring to our financial position, it's actually in reference to our new away kit.

Now anyone with a good memory on this site will remember that I struggle to get excited by kit launches.

As long as the home shirt is blue and features our crest I tend to be happy.

But this new Nike away shirt that was launched on Wednesday, now that is nice!

All black, with gold crest, sponsors badge and Nike tick, it looks a winner to me.

Now here comes the selling spiel;

It's made from Nike Dri-Fit fabric, oh yes I did say 'Dri-Fit', spelt with an I instead of a Y.

It's lightweight and manages perspiration, 'keeping players dry and comfortable for 90 minutes and beyond'. One can only assume it has a build in deodorant can to achieve this.

Not only is it lightweight and makes sweating a thing of the past, but it's also going to help to save the world because it's part of Nike's 'Considered Design programme' and is made from 100% recycled material.

All points which the manufacturer believes will help sell the shirt, rather than it's actual design.

Just as well the actual design is rather nice!

Top class away kit (although it is identical to Barcas away kit last season, not a complaint though), best in years, really like the black and gold combo, it is going to have to take a special home kit for me not to buy the away kit this season.

Good top and should be better quality than what we have had in recent seasons, looking forward to seeing the other tops

Definalty a smart design although the sizes that are available are a bit poor,
