Cahill draws line over Cabaye incident

Tim Cahill will miss the start of the new Premier League season as he is set to sit out a three-match ban.

Cahill was sent off at the end of the final game of the season against Newcastle after reacting angrily to comments made by Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye.

The Newcastle United player later issued a statement on their official website.

I would like to apologise for the cross words I exchanged with Tim Cahill which resulted in his red card and my booking on the final whistle,'

But while Cabaye admitted his comments were the catalyst for Cahill's sending off the Football Association have rejected Everton's appeal and Cahill has accepted his three-game suspension.

'My reaction at the end of the game was out of character but I was disgusted at comments made to me by Cabaye.' Cahill told the media.

He continued: 'I don't wish to elaborate on the exact detail of what was said - but his words have no place either on or off the football pitch.

'Cabaye has apologised via his club's website and as far as I am concerned the matter is now closed.'

Without a doubt, that little ***** Cabaye said something provoking, and it must of been something bad because I have seen Cahill for years, and has never reacted like that to someone (although Cahill shouldn't of never did what he did), and the fact Cabaye immediately after the game apologised to Cahill, even admitting that he said some bad things in the heat of the moment. Luckily for Cabaye, Cahill isn't the type to start *****, and wants the ordeal to calm down. Shame he is going to miss the first 3 games, but secretly, don't think he is in our best XI anymore.

Although i don't condone violence on the pitch i also don't like buttholes like cabaye with inflated egos winding people up and saying something obviously gross to a fellow pro.

There is more to this than meets the eye, cahill has never reacted like this before, but cabaye must have really infuriated cahill as cahill never grabs an opponent like that, cabaye has apologised as well, to show he must have had a bit of guilt on his shoulders.
