Moyes: A Great Performance

Everton manager David Moyes was delighted with the performance in the 4-4 draw against Manchester United.

Everton came back late in the game having trailed 4-2

Moyes: "I thought it was a great performance from the players. I thought they were brilliant and showed they really wanted to win here today.'

"We are criticised often because we can`t beat them here but not many do. It is a difficult place to come and we had a real go at them.'

"I probably (thought it was all over at 4-2) as very few teams would come back from that but we scored a really good goal. Steven Pienaar`s goal was a really good goal - really well worked - and I thought we always looked likely."

There was some controversy in the game thanks to poor refereeing. Mike Jones stopped play with Everton attacking because of a leg injury to a United player in the first half, but later in the game United scored with an Everton player down for some time and this time the referee took no action.

Moyes described this as 'rubbish' and accused the referee of making up his own rules during the game.

Ref was a****, but it seems that is the standard of refereeing at Old Trafford nowadays. But truly was a great performance by the lads, at 4-2, I thought we were gone, but they continued to play their football and got rewarded. 8 goals in the last 2 league games, and some cracking football as well.

Great fight back by you guys, you thoroughly deserved the draw, but I thought the ref was giving poor decisions for both teams.......

There were a number of other poor decisions, his yellow cards in particular. But him just making up rules as he goes along was the worst IMO.
