Baines withdraws from England squad

Leighton Baines has withdrawn from the England squad and returned to Everton after sustaining an injury in training yesterday.

Baines along with his England team-mates were preparing for Tuesday's Euro 2012 qualifier with Wales.

The statement on the FA.com website does not mention what kind of injury or its severity but reports claim it is a hamstring injury.

Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

He joins Victor Anichebe in the treatment room as Big Vic also suffered an injury whilst out on International duty with Nigeria.

For *****s sake, we really have had a *****ty week, Baines if he misses some games (apparently just a tweak and should be right for Villa), forget how good he is, he is our only LB in our squad FFS!!! As for Anichebe, well there goes our only senior striker (although he is absolute crap)

He's a fantastic LB and I think I'm right in saying that based on form he should be in the England team over Cole. Good to hear he won't be out for too long.

No left back, no playmaker, and a rugby player playing football up front. Wonderful times.
