'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Everton just have to continue to wait

David Moyes has made it clear that keeping Steven Pienaar and Mikel Arteta at Goodison Park is our main priority.

With Pienaar only having 12 months to run on his current deal and Arteta having 2 years left getting them to commit to their future now is vitally important.

'We have to make sure we keep the players we have got at the moment, even if we cannot go out and spend on new talent all the time.' David Moyes said speaking at the Shareholders' Forum at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

That view was also shared by Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright, who remains confident the pair will stay: 'I'm more than hopeful we will start the season with the players who ended the season with last year. You can never say that something will definitely happen until it does but I remain hopeful that the pull of the Blues will mean the players will say 'is there anywhere better'?'

Talk of the pairs apparent reluctance to sign new deals has rumbled on during the summer, while Everton have pretty much kept spending on new players down to a minimum.

I guess the only thing we can do is continue to wait.

I'm not too fussed if Pienaar leaves, in fact I hope we do get a bid now rather than lose him on a free, if he was going to sign he would have by now.

Its Pienaar and Arteta that are continuing to wait ......... hoping that someone signs them rather than another failed season at Everton. How many more want to leave the sinking ship - Gosling, Jo, Vaughan, Anchibe etc etc etc etc?

Agreed Mike, we just cant lose Arteta, we can deal without Pienaar but without Arteta it will be a struggle, to be honest, I am hoping and sort of expecting both will stay

Ok Willy me lad, Gosling was one for the future really, yeah we screwed up with him and money talked, you know it, I know it. Jo was your piece of crap, we didn't buy him, but he was useful cover for our injury crisis at the time, thanks for that. Vaughan is injury prone, and to be honest, I think a loan out could be the best thing for his career, someone like Blackburn could be good for him, either way he isnt a first choice striker Anichebe, he went to see his mate play at Coventry, that must mean he is signing for them, I went to Villa Park a few times last year, am I signing for them? Anyway point is, do you really believe every story you find in the tabloids? are you trying to strike up some witty banter? or is it you just are so bored supporting *****teh you have to visit us? Anyway it goes Willy, thanks for the points you give to us in the Vital League
