Howard honoured

Despite conceding three goals against Chelsea, Tim Howard left Stamford bridge with a smile on his face.

Everton had come away from the match with what was probably an unexpected point, while Howard also enjoyed being captain for the day.

"It felt amazing wearing the captain`s armband. I know the history of this club very well now and even if it`s only for one game, for the manager to put that type of responsibility on me and show that appreciation for me is awesome. Howard told the Echo.

"I know who the true captain of this team is but I`m happy to fill in and it`s an honour.'

On the match itself he added: "You usually don`t come away from a game conceding three and have a big smile on your face, but I feel like we earned that.

Yobo, Cahill, Neville, Osman, Hibbert and now Howard have lead the team out this season, and Arteta had a spell as captain last season, would be interesting who our official vice-captain actually was

Whoever is most senior and isn't injured by the looks of it!!

I`d much prefer it to not be handed around like it currently is. I know we have had little choice but it almost feels devalued in some way. At least it wasn't for Howard though.

In fairness whoever we give it to seems to get injured, except for Hibbert that is! Nothing can injure him
